Ian Archer, Associate Director, IHS Markit, is an expert in North American natural gas markets with a focus on Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Archer specifically analyses Canadian supply and demand fundamentals, transportation infrastructure, gas storage, West Coast LNG and outlook for western gas prices. He also assists with the North American Natural Gas Monthly Briefings, scenario analyses, and has supported several consulting projects on topics such as Canadian LNG competitiveness and western Canadian natural gas infrastructure.
Prior to joining IHS Energy, Mr. Archer held various positions with TransCanada, TransAlta and the National Energy Board. He has nearly 20 years of experience in energy market fundamentals, quantitative research, gas market modelling, corporate strategy, macroeconomics and global LNG markets. Mr. Archer holds a BA (Honours) from Queen’s University at Kingston and an MA from the University of Victoria.
