I am Joe Bevan, a Storyteller of the Indigenous Economy – where I can teach you the lost history of Indigenous Grease Trails or trading routes. Together, we learn we can learn the history of the thriving Indigenous economy that was here before colonization. Together, we can revitalize the Indigenous economy, and both succeed in the land of plenty. Because together! We are stronger!
Back in 1991, I moved to Vancouver to pursue a career as an Accountant. In my journey, I found an organization that showed me how many eager Indigenous entrepreneurs waiting to show the rest of Canada their talents. I changed careers as I wanted to help the First Nations develop and join the economy of Canada.
My experience and education have brought me to the Gitga’at Development Corporation as their CEO to showcase my talents and bring the Gitga’at Nation to the main stage.
